My Hijab Story | Motivation for Hijab!

All the motivation you need to start Hijab!

Ya Ahlan Wa Sahlan! (Hello and Welcome!)

My hijab Journey Part: 1

Before I start on sharing my hijab journey with everyone, I wanna let you guys know that What Hijab exactly is! so, let's do it! Alhamdulilahh!💛

A hijab is a veil worn by some Muslim women in the presence of any male outside of their immediate family, which usually covers the head and chest. The term can refer to any head, face, or body covering worn by Muslim women that conforms to Islamic standards of modesty. -Wikipedia

MashaAllah!!

A hijab isn't just a piece of cloth that your gonna wrap around your head, but it's another level feeling that only those people would experience who wear the Hijab out of love and not because someone has told them to, or someone has forced them to!

It refers to Modesty, and before talking about modesty there are different types of Modesty, Modesty of dressing, Modesty of Character and Modesty of Behaviour. Hijab is a part of something called Modesty of dressing, within the limits prescribed by Islam!!

Studying Islam in depth, can teach us vast amount of things! from being a daughter to being a spouse and a mother, It's beautiful!

I also wanna add a very important point here, that Hijab is not just for women but also for men, but it's different in style, Now you see, Hijab is not just the head covering but it holds a much deeper meaning. It's something that protects you, either man or a woman. Men are told to cover themselves the same way as a woman is told to, Islam has always been just and equal for each and everyone, along with numerous things held obligatory for women, are equally obligatory for men.

It is important for a male to cover himself between the navel and the knees. According to many scholars it's also been said, that men are advised not to wear gold and silk clothing. Of course! there's always room for knowledge, you might want to search about it from different places. Everyone hold's a different opinion, and it's important that each and everyone of us respect that, May God Almighty guide us all to the right path, Ameen!

I might In Sha Allah!! compose an entire blog just on modesty specifically for men. You can also search for more detailed rules on male modesty through the Internet and find out more :)

Now, let's continue...

Life is short to cry over little things, from getting bullied at school for adhering to your hijab, well.. that's another story and another thing we need to elucidate!! later, hehe!

So, the reason why I started to wear a Hijab was because I was forever inspired by people wearing it, You know there are soo many girls out there, who maybe want to start it but they can't because switching to hijab is something real hard, at times! and I know that feeling well, once you've made the commitment but then you get the feeling that I'd have looked better with my hair all-open looking better than her, looking just like that celebrity and stuff like that! but when YOU will start wearing the Hijab you'll become a motivation to someone else and that's very beautiful!

From 1, to 4 and then constantly hijabi's increasing exponentially in the world!! but another thing that's of great vitality is that, when you start a Hijab please wear it, keep wearing it! and don't leave it for anyone or anything! May Allah (SWT) reward each and everyone for their good deeds!! May He guide us all! Ameen.

A hijab is something that protects you, it makes you feel a 100 times more confident to walk out in public, it helps you to overcome the fears that most girls have while going out etc. It makes you feel the happiest! and of course!! protected. ❤

Another thing is that with a positive and modest character and behavior, people will start treating you differently and in a good way, it will help you to stand out and become a motivation to someone else, it would impress other's in a positive way, it would inspire some other girl maybe wanting to start a hijab but she doesn't know how to. Your dressing, your way of talking, it all basically makes a change not only in your own self but also in the present world, And what is more better than living according to Islamic ways and earn our reward in the Akhira! In Sha Allah!! and SubhanAllah!

Another major perk of wearing a hijab is that, a woman with hijab attracts less attentions from Non-Mehram men and also such women are very rarely the victims of male harassment. This world is temporary and one day, we'll all have to go, and provide an explanation to our deeds, This dunya (world) is nothing more than a dream... an illusion, which will soon end!

The Arabic words 'akad ukhfiha' in 20:15 mean "I will keep it almost hidden". These words are very significant. They mean that the date of the end of the world will be hidden almost to the very end but will be revealed just before the very end of the world. -quran-islam.org

When it comes to bullying, a smart way to prepare yourself and make yourself more confident and stand-up in-front of the bullies is to just believe that your Hijab, is your protection and you wear it not for anyone but Allah (SWT) so, please don't take it off just because a bunch of kids are gonna bully you and of-course if the matter gets worse, talk it out, tell a teacher who understands you, tell your parents so that they can consult the officials, like a head in-charge, or a guidance counselor and are able to take corrective action against such people. After all Allah (SWT) will reward you for adhering to your Hijab and standing-up for yourself, In Sha Allah!!

All the Hijabi's out there, were you all aware of these scientific facts!! 🎀

  • Wearing Hijab protects the heat from the body being lost. Medical tests show that 40-60% heat is lost through the head so wearing a head covering in cold months is very important from the health perspective.

  • A head covering is very important for hygienic purposes too as mentioned above all public should wear Hijab or head-covering workers serving society to ensure cleanliness and purity. Workers in several professions wear “veils” – nurses, fast food workers, restaurant workers and servers, doctors, health care providers and many more.

  • Keep your hair pollution free when you cover your head. Hijab protects the hair from dust and direct exposure to sunlight that may damage the hair.

  • Keeping most of your skin shielded from the sun’s harmful rays the most of the time, preserves your body’s largest organ and keeps it wrinkle-free for much longer while wearing hijab and covering the face.

So, now you know, that how beautiful it is to cover yourself, to wear modest clothes, to inspire other women in the world and remember to do it all for Allah (SWT) because:  "Those who spend their wealth by night and day, privately and publicly, verily their reward is with their Lord, and there shall be no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve."
SubhanAllah!!
